T is for...

...toilet? Part of Kaylee's homework last week was to draw two things that start with the letter T. Before she could start her drawings, she had to go use the bathroom. I told her while she was in there to be thinking of some things that start with T, so she could finish her homework when she got done. Oops! Here's her picture of the toilet and toilet paper.

Career Day

Friday was career day at school. Kaylee had a hard time deciding what she wanted to be, but finally decided on a movie star. Steve told her she could just wear the same clothes she had on, and go as mommy. Ha ha, so tacky! Here are some pictures the movie star. It's hard to tell but she has her ballet skirt over her leggings. She was very cute.

Apple Lantern

Kaylee kept telling me this was an apple lantern. I didn't get until I actually looked a little closer.

Bedtime Prayer

Dear Lord,

Thank you for all the wonderful days. Thank you for Mommy, Daddy, Bailey, and Wyatt. Please help me to like Kindergarten and please tell my teacher that circle time is not fun and stuff like that.

In Jesus name I pray,
Amen

But it matches my shirt

This is how Kaylee came down when she was all ready for school.

Compromise

This was our shoe compromise yesterday. She wore socks with her new shoes. It looks a little silly, but it's not crocs!

Future Pastry Chef

After school today, we made cookies. Here is one of Kaylee's many masterpieces. It's Ariel.

I spoke too soon

So, as you can see, we are wearing our crocs today. I'm not going to write about it because I really don't want to relive it. We did finally agree to change outfits to match the crocs, but not without a lot of drama. We'll try again next week.

Good-Bye Crocs

To say Kaylee has been having some clothes issues would be the understatement of the century. She's all about comfort right now. We bought a million pairs of leggings before school started so that her clothes would be comfortable enough for her. One problem - crocs. She has worn nothing but crocs (actually moc-crocs) for over a year. She hates for anything to touch her feet, so buying shoes is always a drama. You might be asking yourself, "what's the problem with crocs," but unless you have had to deal with trying to come up with outfits that go with crocs for over a year, you may not make any comments. Her teacher told us at orientation that the kids must wear tennis shoes on the days they have gym. So, we went last night once again to look for something she might be able to wear. Hallelujah, we found some she thinks she might like. It will be interesting to see if she will actually put on a pair of jeans to wear with her tennis shoes on gym day. She also found some shoes to wear with her leggings. I was so proud of her this morning when she got dressed, shoes and all, with no complaints. I'll let you know how tomorrow goes after her new shoes gave her blisters today.

Super Bailey

Kaylee really missed Bailey while we were on vacation. She was super excited when she came home from the kennel, and drew this picture for her. It's Bailey as a super dog.

A few Kaylee-isms (Updated 9/9/08)

- "I wish we could cut you back open and put him back in." (about Wyatt)

- "Oh, my Dupont, how I missed you." (when we drove into Dupont to get gas after moving to Spanaway)

- "I really miss Bailey and my best friend tree stump." (after leaving Dupont on the way to Disney Land. There was a tree stump outside our old house in Dupont that Kaylee called her best friend.)

- "Yeah, that would be great! It would rock out the house! (when asked if she would like to go to Dairy Queen)

- "Please protect me. If you don't I'll squeeze your head off." (on her way to the bathroom)

- "Oh, I wasn't trying to scratch him, that's just how I stretch out my fingers." (after she put all her fingers on Wyatt's head and proceeded to scratch him. She did the same thing to me today, and said the same thing. I think we need to figure out why she has the need to stretch out her fingers.)

- "Well, it's just not that easy for me to go to sleep, because I like it better when my eyes is open." (When told to go back up to bed and go to sleep)

More to come.....

The Tooth Fairy's Visit

Kaylee lost her first tooth last week. What a big girl! She was so anxious for the tooth fairy to come that she spent all day trying to pull her tooth out. She is much braver than I ever was. It finally came out while she was at IHOP with her daddy. She told him there was something hard in her hashbrowns, so he got it out for her. She carried it around in a to go cup the rest of the day until she could get home and put it under her pillow. When she woke up, the tooth fairy had left her two dollars. She was so excited!

Bedtime Prayer

"Dear Lord,

Thank you for all the wonderful days. I wish I could live in Heaven with you because nothing bad happens in Heaven, but that means I would have to die, and then I would miss Mommy, Daddy, Bailey, Wyatt, and all my friends and family. I wish you could just make Heaven another country, so that we could drive there.

In Jesus name I pray, Amen."
